A scandal is getting major media attention and the media is digging deep to find the guilty party [they already know who is guilty] and asking the all important questions. What do the people in charge know? When did they know it? Who is responsible?
Remember the 2010 BP oil spill? The oil geyser in the Gulf of Mexico threatened the environment, hurt tourism in the area and led to the failure of businesses.

Best wishes to everyone this Christmas Day. There will be no politics today. Instead I wold like to point you to an inspirational message at The American Thinker by Steve McCann: Saved By Christmas.
This is what is known so far. A gunman entered an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut and killed twenty six people, twenty of them children, before taking his own life.
One month ago President Obama defied the odds and managed to win election to a second term. It was hailed by the media as an epochal shift in the electorate and Republicans were devastated that Romney had won fewer votes than McCain had four years earlier. Romney’s loss was made worse by the number of Republicans that went down to defeat in Senate races and left that chamber under Democrat control.
As early as the next morning, some Republicans were talking about the need for the party to reject some of the members of its coalition, namely conservatives, in order to reach out to groups won by the Democrats. Groups that insisted that immigration laws be enforced had to be rejected in order to appeal to Hispanics. The pro-life cause had to be abandoned in order to appeal to single women. The media, which can always be counted on for this type of help, told us that the party was too old and too white to appeal to the new emerging minority-majority America.

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918 an Armistice was signed by Germany which ended hostilities on the western front of the first world war. Armistice Day, first proclaimed in by President Wilson in 1919, honored the veterans of that war. In 1954, after World War II, President Eisenhower signed legislation to expand Armistice Day to celebrate the service of all veterans. The holiday was later renamed Veterans Day.
This Veterans Day take a moment to honor those brave men and women who answered the call of service to their country. They fought the wars, protected the peace and deserve our deepest gratitude. Thank you.
Does anyone remember the Democrats in 2004? They were convinced that their base was a majority in the country and were absolutely certain that their complaints against the President were understood by the citizenry. Primary voters selected an electable politician from Massachusetts who campaigned on what they thought were obvious truths about the situation in the country. The candidate then went down to defeat against an incumbent that skillfully turned out his base. It’s like going back in time, only without the smaller waistline and fewer gray hairs. The myth of electability also played a role in the selection of the Republican nominee the last two times around.

I am stunned. There is just no other way to put it. I am absolutely stunned by the results from the elections last night. The polls had everything close down to the wire last night and while the popular vote is close, the Electoral College tally has given the President a landslide victory. This is the first in a series of post election analysis. First up for consideration are the disappointing effects of socialism and a scheming media establishment. Both were factors that contributed to the results of the 2012 election.

A roller-coaster of an election has reached its final day. Americans have begun their trips to the polls and barring any problems with the counting of ballots we will have a President-elect and newly minted, or re-elected Senators and Representatives tonight.
Shortly before the 2008 election a video illustrating a letter to the editor was uploaded to Youtube. It compared then Senator Obama with a young Cuban leader who had stirred passions in his day.
